2007 Population in Collier County stands around 320,000 

Coyotes have been a problem in southern Lee County.  Several small dogs have been attacked while being walked on leashes.

Assessed property values dropped around 7% in Collier County in 2007.

A new flea market is to open in September on East US-41 about 4 miles east of Collier Blvd.   It will be an indoor air conditioned market.

Nordstroms is coming to the Waterside Shops - opening in the fall.

The Naples Community Hospital is now one of only 17 hospitals in the country to have the new $3.2 million CyberKnife at it's Cancer Center.  The new technology allows the machine to destroy benign or malignant tumors while the patient skips surgery. 

HealthGrades, an independent quality healthcare rating service has ranked Naples Community Hospital in the Top 5% of all hospitals nationally for its heart care program.  In the Fall of 2003, MONEY magazine named the hospital as one of America's Top Hospitals in Coronary Bypass Surgery and Valve Replacement Surgery.
